Pvc is heavy for what you get...for pontoons you want to have half or less of the pontoon submerged. your pontoon will displace pi r^2 x (360 inches) or 3.14 x 144 x 360 = 162777.6 cu in/1728 cu in per cu ft = 94.2 cu ft/2 = 47.1 cu ft x 64 lbs/cu ft = 3014.4 lbs. Added pvc molding to joints in areas where abrasion seemed likely.----- this is during the process of glassing all the joints. also applied lots of "putty" made from resin and cooking flour. ----- bottom view of the completed pontoon boat. repainted top & bottom of deck with white roof coating.. Re: pvc sewer pipe for pontoons i dunno, jb; i have built a lot of water/waste water plants with exposed pvc, and gone back 6 years later , and all was good. schedule 80 is almost bullet-proof at 16" and better. i have standing hose bibbs of pvc outside, that have lasted 25 years, with freezes.. just an observation..
